It might not be Apple OS related just that I have been asked too many times and as long as I have unlocked a few I have decided that it would be nice sharing this info with you.
1) Install Itunes and update your Iphone to the latest firmware.
2) Install QuickPwn to Pwn, Jailbreak and Activate your Iphone.
QuickPwn does not update the firmware itself, this tool is designed to ‘Pwn’ (the ability to install future custom non-Apple firmwares) , ‘Jailbreak’ and install a new customized "Installer" or "Cydia" on a given device.
If your device is running 2.0.1 and you QuickPwn it, it’ll still be running 2.0.1, although it will now be Pwned and Jailbroken, similarly if your device is running 2.0.2 and you QuickPwn it, it will then be running 2.0.2 but the device will now be Pwned and Jailbroken.

The jailbreak process is very straightforward, compared with the procedures in WinPwn. But please note that the tool assumes you have an iPhone running firmware 2.0.1/2.0.2. That means if you’re going to upgrade to firmware 2.0.2, you should first upgrade the iPhone firmware through iTunes. And then you jailbreak it through QuickPwn.
To jailbreak using QuickPwn,
1. Download QuickPwn (http://xs1.iphwn.org/releases/QuickPwnGUI120.zip) and firmware 2.0.2 (2G (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-5246.20080818.2V0hO/iPhone1,1_2.0.2_5C1_Restore.ipsw)/3G (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-5241.20080818.t5Fv3/iPhone1,2_2.0.2_5C1_Restore.ipsw)). Then extract QuickPwn and put the firmware file in the same folder of QuickPwn.
2. Connect your iPhone to the dock/USB and launch “QuickPwnGui120″ and select 2G/3G iPhone.
3. Follow the instruction to locate your firmware (i.e. IPSW file) and select options to install Cydia & Installer. And, kick off the jailbreak process. Wait for the process to complete and your iPhone is jailbreaked.
4. For 2G iPhone, your iPhone may still be locked at the stage. Enable Wifi and launch Cydia. Download and install Bootneuter (under “Utilities” section).
5. (For 2G iPhone) Launch Bootneuter. Make sure “Unlock” and “Neuter” are enabled. Click “Flash” to unlock the iPhone!

“Different SIM detected” Please connect to iTunes"
SOLUTION?

2) Download, extract and install SetupiPhoneBrowser.1.81.rar (it is attached to this post too).
3) Navigate to to /private/var/root/Library/ and copy lockdown folder to your desktop (for backup just in case.
4) Delete that folder from phone.
5) Browse to unziped Lockdown downloaded patched file and upload to phone to replace the folder you just deleted.
6) Naviagte into patched folder and make sure file permissions are set to 644 for all files
7) Reboot phone.
