INSTRUCTIONS ON FREE ONLINE SCANNING:
In my experience, most Viruses, Adware and Spyware are residing in memory so that it may have the capability to disable or prevent any virus, spyware and adware protection from running. To use this online-scanner effectively, it is advised to boot in safe mode with networking before doing so. Though this feature is only available for Windows XP and 2000, online scanning in Windows 9x and ME can be done in normal startup mode.
IMPORTANT STEPS IN ONLINE SCANNING:
1. Disable "System Restore" for Windows Me and XP, then restart your PC.
2. Press "F8" upon bootup.
3. Select "Safe mode with Networking"
4. For Broadband and network users, connect to internet and choose any of the available on-line scanners.
5. Repeat as necessary.
6. Scanning on different vendors is mandatory because each of them have different characteristic and cannot remove all variants on the infected PC.
