Hello

I am about to be made redundant from my job as an editorial designer. I'm thinking of expanding my skill set to improve future job opportunities or eventually to become freelance.

Web design seems to be the best move. I covered it about ten years ago in my degree of Graphic Design, but can not remember any of it and I'm sure it's moved on greatly since.

Could anyone suggest a good part-time/evening/weekend/home learning course in the Bicester/Oxfordshire area? If so what in exactly? Just Flash? Just HTML? Just Dreamweaver? or a mixture of them all?
OR

Would I do better to utilise time and money on just getting particular programmes and learning with trial and error? (since I am already fully competent in Photoshop, Indesign etc) If so which programmes should I get?

I've searched the internet, but really haven't got a clue what to do for the best.

HEEELLLLP!?!

Hi,

Having a good Photoshop background is a major advantage.
Learning html would help you a lot at this stage. Leave flash aside for the moment as it won't help you much especially that the flash websites are not required any more.

Photoshop
Xara
HTML - pure (Dreamweaver is good too)
Try this website and see how you like it.

Please keep us updated and do not be afraid to post your drafts, samples, design, logos, etc on our forum.

Good luck
