I really like AVAST but some of my friends are telling me that Norton or AVG is better. Can you please post a review on AVAST?
Thank you and keep up the good work.

Hi Benwrantee,
I am using AVG since I bought my computer that is 4-5 years. I upgrade my antivirus frequently. I am using free version of AVG9 right now and the full protection is there. I have not faced any problem regarding the virus. The Avast and Nortan I never used it so no idea about that antivirus. My friend was using the Nortan, he complains me many a times regarding the Nortan, so I suggest not to prefer Nortan. Regarding the Avast no idea sorry for that.

Hi Bruce,
Norton (not Nortan) it was a good AV a few good years ago. Definition wise I believe that it is still one of the best in the world, same Kaspersky AV. Unfortunately it has become too big now, using too many resources collapsing under its own interface on slower machines.

Back to the question in regard to AVG...despite all these review found everywhere on the internet it is hard to say: "This AV is good and this AV is bad".
When installing an AV there are many factors to take in calculation (PC usage, PC specs. Role of the PC, Users - nr and age, RAM, CPU, etc)
I have seen users and PC's with AVG extremely happy and users with AVG reaching a point where the computers where literally packed with viruses...

It is not only AVG. It is Norton, McAfee, AVAST, all of them.
Remember, the best PC protection is user education.

I use Avast and I love the way it works. They have got some really useful features like automatic virus definition updates and they have this new feature called AutoSandbox which is really impressive.
