Dear Laurentio

I used your solution on the UPS bug and mangaged to clear it. Howeverr, I have adifferent problem now.

Everytime I switch on the computer I get a pop up message saying Windows Installer, After about 30 seconds a second box pops up with Microsoft.NET Framework. Error is " An unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. Click Contine and appication will ignore this error and attempt to continue. BY pressing continue, nothing happens and the details of the error has been pasted below.----------------------------------------

To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

well well well...
this sounds like a VB.Net issue.

System.NullReferenceException - Object reference not set to an instance of an object


Are you trying to debug it with JIT Debugging? (Just-In-Time Debugging)
If this is what you're trying to do, the cause is always the same in .Net: You are trying to use a reference variable who's value is Nothing/null. When the value is Nothing/null for the reference variable, that means it is not actually holding a reference to an instance of any object that exists on the heap. You either never assigned something to the variable, never created an instance of the value assigned to the variable, or you set the variable equal to Nothing/null manually, or you called a function that set the variable to Nothing/null for you. In VB.Net, you are trying to access a string that has not been initialized. In C#, this isn’t possible.

If not, then in your case this would be the solution:

Register the Adodb.dll file in the global assembly cache (GAC). On a computer where only the .NET Framework is installed, the file Gacutil.exe does not exist.. Either obtain the gacutil file by installing Microsoft .NET Framework SDK, or create a Visual Studio.NET setup project that uses the installer to install the correct components.

To register Adodb.dll in the GAC, follow these steps:

1.Click Start and then click Run.
2.In the Run dialog box, type the following command, and then click OK:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\gacut il /i C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies\adodb.dll
