I hope that you can help
I am with Be and suffer from their apalling Thompson router and so I bought the above Netgear on EBay - the seller did not state is was other than normal. However the box is Virgin branded and although a V3 router the firmware begins V1.
Having suspected that that the modem had Virgin firmware it was only on this forum that my suspicions were confirmed.
My son has a required PC (I use Macs) we tried the technique you outlined in the previous thread. However upon reaching the stage of weeding out redundant ethernet cards the system does nothing, the box which should contain the correct inteface device remains blank and the process cannot continue. We waited for half an hour or so with the LAN LED blinking away but have given up.
Can you tell me if this technique works with the DG 834G V3 router? and, if so what is it that we doing incorrectly?
TIA
