Techniques of SEO

I want to work for the Freelancer project for SEO.
I have a little bit idea about the techniques of SEO that is onsite and offsite SEO.
I want to know the techniques used for the onsite and methods of offsite SEO.
I heard that to be an SEO people didn't need any Master degree qualification, as I don't have any Master degree but want to earn high. Please help me.
