How to remove MoviePass (MediaPipe, MovieLand, PopCorn.net) popups - software?
Did you install a three day trial of moviepass.tv and now your computer is subject to persistent pop-ups demanding that you sign up for a monthly subscription. What is moviepass?
MoviePass (also known as MediaPipe, MovieLand, PopCorn.net) is a scam. It targets US only while MBS iBill is the same scam that targets UK mainly. Going to their websites to unsubscribe or pay any sort of fees won't help at all.
Unfortuantely, there's no automatic solution capable to remove them or better said, 99% of the existing anti-malware, antispyware and antivirus programs cannot detect Moviepass scam therefore the best removal procedure has to be manually done:
- Start your computer in safe mode
- Open Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs
- Uninstall anything with names starting with or similar to the following:
- AltBill
- AltPayments
- AltPayV2
- DownloadManager
- FileGrabber
- FSupport
- ITBills
- License Manager
- MediaPipe
- MoviePass
- MovieLand
- MPNotifier
- MyAccessMedia
- MyWaySA
- Notify
- Notifier
- Notification Utility
- OptimumOnline
- P2PNetworks
- Open Windows Explorer
- Open the Program Files folder
- Delete any subfolders with names related to the items you uninstalled
- Click Start, Run, enter msconfig and click OK
- Select the Startup tab
- Disable any items with command names related to the items you uninstalled by clearing the associated check box
- Click OK
- Restart the computer.
